The school district delayed kindergarten a week, so last week was the first week of school for our youngest child. I can’t believe the little dude is in school now.
My oldest daughter (8th grader) is in two bands at school: the regular concert band and an after-school jazz band. She got her first flute solo during her jazz number at her band concert last week.
Can you tell who is the happiest about the first day of school?
Boys are much easier to shop for than girls. In the case of my oldest son (age nine), we got him a Lands’ End shirt (Sears), jeans, tennis shoes, an Oregon State cap (Target), and a flaming skeleton hoodie (Burlington Coat Factory). The flaming skeleton hoodie is his favorite back-to-school item even though he’s not allowed to zip up the hood at school.
Guess what happened after my youngest daughter asked mommy why she always has to wear hand-me-downs from her big sister. Four new back-to-school outfits. Two of the outfits are from Target, and the other two are from Nordstrom Rack. Which of the four outfits is your favorite?
My little girl picked this back-to-school outfit at Target. As you can see, she’s a rock star.
Can you guess which of my four kids is not going to school this year?
It’s the first day of school. I can’t believe summer is over.
